SmartCatji, i looked at M&M Finance and found that they have high NPA (brought down from 4% to 2.5%)..any idea how does it look in comparison to Sundaram Fin?

Just took a quick look at Sundaram Finance now. Looks better than M&M Fin because of all their subsidiaries. They havea profitable insurance business that will delight any "SOTP" analyst.

The only doubt in my mind is - does non-life insurance business too suck cash?

Do you see some trend in the prices of the companies you are holding? I am seeing sudden pick up in many small caps with large volumes - wondering what's happening?

This month, there has been good amount of price movement in smallcaps and midcaps.

In my friend/foe circle of novice investors, I don't see anybody talking about the stock market yet. So I guess it is DIIs/HNIs/experienced retail investors/MFs buying into these stocks.

There seems to be a lot of choosiness about the stocks/sectors that are running up. It is not as if cats and dogs are up and running. That fact is comforting that the blow out phase before a fall has not yet arrived.
Stockmarket is a weird place. For every person who buys a stock there is a person who sells it and both think they are very smart.

Anyone tracking Magma Fincorp. They seem to be doing well and is available at reasonable value.

M&M Financials is much better than Magma - bigger brand name, better financial record, higher dividend yield.
