"Cats have nine lives, you know," said Sir Wilfrid heartily.

"Possibly", answered Tobermory; "but only one liver."

Hi Smartcat,

I think you had invested in FAME recently, if that is so then have made good profits.
But one of the brokerages posted negative outlook about its future earnings.

Brokerages cannot predict future earnings of a multiplex chain, because they wouldn't know if Kambakt Ishq or  Kaminey [note the title of movies released these days] would be a hit or not.

I think Fame is worth a lot more than Rs. 100 cr.

Is this an earnings call or a valuation call ?

Valuation call. They made a net profit of Rs. 12 cr in FY08. FY09 was problematic for them mostly because of external factors, because of which its marketcap fell to Rs. 50 cr in March. Now most of those 'external factors' are no longer there.

Meanwhile, I just sold out Reliance Industries completely. It was the oldest stock in my portfolio and has given a CAGR of 23% over the last 5 years. I will be using the proceeds to partly fund the acquisition of an asset that will probably depreciate at 23% per annum!

I've decided to let "Chameli" go - and am looking forward to meeting "Bebo".
