Good post Ramana Sir

Appreciate you taking time. I will spend my weekend looking into this sector. I have seen many unlisted players in my state.

Thanks,
Praveen.

Thank you. More than anything I like the industry and its potential.

Ecoreco does not look good if you look at the indicators - NPM, ROCE, ROE, Cash flow, etc. However, I would like to see the numbers starting from Sep 10, how it improves on it.

Founder Mr. Soni has pretty good visibility in industry. He is a member of government committees and part of many e-waste recycling initiatives.

You may want to check the following if the time permits

1. Shareholding pattern after amalgamation with INFOTREK Syscom
2. About the founder Mr. Soni, and any controversies if he is involved in
3. Quarter to quarter performance is not consistent. Please check if there is any pattern to it.
4. Any expansion plans, how the company is able to raise capital

Let us see, if we can count the eggs before they hatch.

How does on value this kind of a business? Discounting cash flows won't work as there is no earnings visibility for innovative businesses. Can't do relative valuation either, as there is no suitable comparable.

There is no past history to compare with. It is like betting on somebody's  wisdom with our own hard earned money. The chances of loosing the money is high if we are not careful. If we are proven correct, we will make a windfall gain.

To be on the safer side, I will not put more than 1% of portfolio in these kinds of companies even if I am fully convinced.

Let us wait for the quarterly results.

One can never be too careful with these kind of companies - what makes you see a very high risk-return ratio in this sector?

I undestand. It may take at least six months for me to validate my assumptions and to take any decision. Till then 'no idea' on risk vs reward. I will keep on updating this with whatever information I get.

Can you elaborate more on this?

e.g, its been one the earlier entrants in this field and despite a huge market potential they have been unable to scale up the operations. As far as i have researched the market (at one time i wanted to start something like this), the profit margins are excellent in the business, but looking at the results of this company, you could see, that even their operating profits are minuscule. I have also been touch with three people who are into this business and one of them is actually a "kabadi" and they have grown by leaps and bounds and now swear by the market potential of e-recycling... but all this is not evident in ecoreco

How does this compare against Cerebra International which is listed or Ramky which is building a landfill as far as I know?
Also, there are quiet a few unlisted PE funded players e.g Attero, e-Parisara, Ash, Tessam. How does it compare with them?

Also, do they have signed up clients like HP, Dell who manufacture such products?

Cerebra's financials look worser than Ecoreco's. I think Attero is doing good, but it is a private company.

Let us wait and see how Eco will improve its financials and expand the capacity.ve on.

cerebra does not inspire confidence either... their corporate governance is a huge question mark...

That is why question was on the profile of the clients. Typically dealing with HP, Dell would inspire more confidence than say Maharashtra govt.

Ambore sir, any news on Eco recycling? nearly 50% up in last 2-3 days.
Today volumes also seem pretty heavy as compared to past few days.
Also 91% are delivery based volumes.

Looks like someone (Ambore sir) is accumulating !!! WinkWink

If you're prepared to invest in a company, then you ought to be able to explain why in simple language that a fifth grader could understand, and quickly enough so the fifth grader won't get bored.

The results are not consistent. Recently, it has been shortlisted by CNBC for Future Leaders awards. Overall I have mixed feelings.

However, I am pretty confident we are going to see a great company emerging from this industry. I am not yet sure if that is  going to be Ecoreco. I will wait for some time to take any call.

The new e-waste rules have finally come into existence. What does it hold for EcoReco and Cerebra Integrated Tech?
