Hi,

Does anyone know of a good portfolio analysis app (preferably desktop based rather than online), either paid or free, which can be used to do the analysis of one's portfolio (like that of a mutual fund with rolling 1 yr, 3 yr, 5 yr kind of return calculations and volatility no's as well)

Ideally, i am looking for one with a manual data input option.

Currently i use excel with each trade manually inserted (along with dividend and brokerage charges). While this allows me to keep track of returns since inception (through XIRR fn), it does not allow me to calculate 1 yr, 3 yr, 5 yr returns on a rolling basis.

Regards

Hello there,

I have started using www.moneysights.com , which calculated returns for 1,3,5 years as well as for shorter duration. It auto calculates dividends/splits too. Can track MF as well.

I have just started using it so not sure how reliable calculatios are. But I checked for few stocks, dividends were bag on. Guess worth a look.

Yeah, I hve just started using it and so far I am onboard happily. ALso, check their break up part. I liked that part too. Plus proft/loss gives u how much did u gain/loose on price front+ how much did u earn on dividends, so it helps u visualize and appreciate more on dividends..

Their recommendations algorithm, I would not trust that..but it still gives u some points to ponder upon for novices like me..

I'm a beta user of this site. Trying removing a stock from your portfolio, it won't allow you (or they might fixed this bug recently). This is very new site and having some hidden surprises.

anyhow, as we are using it just for tracking purposes, so its fine I guess.

Hi Photophobic,

the performance section only shows me options for 1d, 1w, 1m, 3m, 6m and 1 year returns. It doesnt show me option for times longer than 1 year.

Am i missing something?

Regards
