There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST Emergency

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialled even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to
drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!'

THIRD Hidden Battery Power

imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phon! e: * # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends

Nokia smart phones can also be used to avoid being caught by speed radar guns (Those which use radio frequency to calculate vehicle speed)

Nokia Speed Trap Detector (radio frequency device)

The settings for radar speed traps detector. Your Nokia cell phone can be programmed to pick up radar speed traps, when programmed your cell
phone picks up the radar frequency and alerts you on the message alert tone. As soon as any new radio frequency even if it is very week is detected the mobile beeps so you approximately have 5 - 15 seconds to cut speed before the frequency range gets strong enough and bounces from your vehcile and the police officer on the road gets your speed reading.

1. Enter your menu
2. Select settings
3. Select security settings
4. Select closed user group
5. Select on
6. Enter 00000
7. Press ok
8. Clear back to normal, within a few seconds
your phone will display a radar sign with five
zero's next to it. It is now activated.

Unfortunately only few Nokia models have this
function working. Cell info display needs to be de-
activated. Settings -> Phone Settings -> Cell
Info display
Each time you turn off your phone, or even each
time you loose contact with your carrier, you'll
have to activate it again... It is done by steps
1 through 5, but the number (00000) will be
already on the field as default.

SOME OTHER SECRET FUNCTIONS IN NOKIA MOBILE

*#0000# Displays your phones software version, 1st Line : Software Version, 2nd Line : Software Release Date, 3rd Line : Compression Type
*#92702689# Displays - 1.Serial Number, 2.Date Made, 3.Purchase Date, 4.Date of last repair (0000 for no repairs), 5.Transfer User Data. To exit this mode you need to switch your phone off then on again ---- kindly do not tamper with data given / shown here.

You can use these functions while buying new Nokia phone to find out whether information / data given on phone box and displayed by the phone are same or not. Also to confirm whether it is new phone or an exchange offer company re-conditioned phone from europe being sold as new in India by great shop keepers.

I checked nokia website it shows that nokia 6030 is not infra red enabled ... plz correct me if I am wrong.

There are some TV remote software for mobile but pre-condition for all is that phone must have infra red capability and must have good stable operating software like nokia symbian 60 or 80.

Basant jee,

If I had not been in this crisis in my life I would definitely have upgraded from my N9500 communicator to E-90 ..... It is an upgraded version of N9500 with simple change of operating system now being symbian 60 ...

great phone ..... I will try and get some software for it ...

Abroad I was so used to N9500 that I could do without my laptop for most fuctions like chat, e-mail, surfing, excel, word, etc ... but that time all software was paid by company ...

plz give me few days to get reply back frm my friends ..

Ps : but plz do install a good antivirus software like norton in it if you are going to run many multimedia programs, use it for surfing, chat ... it can get infected by viruses from net or mms content ...
