Neat!

Nice lines Nitin. And who is Gupta?

And I don't like Mint calling TED a 'club'. When it comes to stock markets, investment club actually http://www.fool.com/InvestmentClub/InvestmentClub01.htm - means something else .

Wow..... Congrats TED and all the TEDdies Clap ! Now we are on Mint too. And others will follow soon ! Basant Jee, please prepare yourself for the coming days. In fact Mint was stressing one point. They were emphasizing that these kind of [Clubs] are similar to the [Open Source Software Development] communities working for betterment of each other, ultimately leading to sharing of knowledge among the community members. KEEP GOING TED !!!!

I dont like what the title hints at:

"Bullish markets make investment clubs the flavour of the season"

TED is not for short-termers and hence TED is NOT the flavor of the season!! LiveMint is talking just like MoneyControl. Very wrong words and pathetic that LiveMint clubbed together TED with :flavor of the season" websites.

Anyhow, good for LIVEMint that it took note of a certain TED on NET. Its ratings will go up some more for this one good work.

Reference to your note above, I shall do the needful Basant sir no probs!

BasantJi… this is great news. Congrats

Om ….Don’t worry. This news would attract enough publicity and registrations. and then, its TED’s collective responsibility to convert each of them, from looking towards “Flavour of the season” to “Hardwork and Discipline”.

Yes! That is true too. So, every loyal TEDdy is requested to work double time to make sure the quality remains at 100% that we have maintained since TED's inception.

Since inception:

1) NO SPAM
2) No talks about any stock, without solid backing of reasoning and valuations.
3) No cheap talk/no use of derogatory language

Everyone has to keep a watchout for the same!

lol... Omjee that was great..
Though i am new to the club, i feel an integral part of it.
And in my view, the reason for them to quote this club as seasonal is because it started in July 2006 (just when the bull market started roaring high). My intentions are not to hurt anyone here and even i hated the article because of the way they quoted TED, but all i am to do is state the reason why they quoted TED as a "seasonal website".

But soon all will be proven wrong when they see the long term survival of this wonderful forum.

Cheers!!!

I am a member of capital ideas club as well and it was nice to know two great ideas being reviewed by a paper like mint.

to those who want to be part of capital ideas club, the entry norms are quite stiff as the article itself states.

but it is quite an intellectual effort to prepare a four or five page analysis on a company. you end up learning a lot. and as an investor you figure out how to ask questions.

this is not to say I am denigrating TED. One is a happy adda where we exchange useful information that benefits everyone. The other is a like an evening school where one picks up a degree after working hours.....

I just re-read my post again. I would like to point out that I was not pointing at the other two websites that were included alongwith TED on LiveMint, but I was rather pointing at the "so-called flavor of the season" webites floating all over the web. Just wanted to put the actual meaning of my words on record so that no one who is running a genuine investor site gets hurt! I wish all genuine investor-websites potloads of luck!

Now there...done that!

Btw Shiv jee, when one gets a Ph.D degree while feeling he is actually having 'fun' and 'adda' it is called a "Warren Bufett+Peter Lynch mixture'. That is the beauty of TED...one doesnt even feel that he is collecting a high-profile degree at the end of it! It all feels like 2nd nature and that is what investing is all about...rather than paper-work becoming the sole point of judging someone. I leave the "just paper-work" for the great analysts at the brokerage houses. Not trying to put someone's efforts at paperwork down, but just sharing some thoughts.

Three cheers for the TED in each one of us...The Entrepreneur Drive in each one of us!

Arre, it is not such a big issue. I was also taking a shot at LiveMint. All is well. I didnt hate the article, but yes...the author needs to spend sometime at TED to get a feel of what it is all about. We are all busy people, and they may be too! Big%20smile

But one more thing, we do not need to prove anything to anyone Sandeep jee about our survival etc. We just need to focus on doing investing the right way and helping each other and whatever else has to happen will happen.

Also roaring bull market started in 2003 not 2006!

Om Namah Shivaya!

To be frank, this article in Mint or a mention of TED somewhere else is not something that excites me much.  What really does excite me is the intrinsic value of TED created by thoughtful, sensible and valuable discussion here that leads participants (mind the word participants) to make informed and well judged investment decisions and profiting from such decisions.

Just as Vivek would never like to see any of his good dividend paying stocks appreciating in terms of share price I would not like see membership of TED exploding withing a short span of time.  Such explosion only attracts too many stock ideas and too many choices in life can make decision making a very tough one.

Thank you all. As we always say this is a collective workand one person does not make TED.

Never mind the phrases if our quality of discussion is good people will stick to TED come what may!

It just shows that everyone is watching TED. Thye media guys cover us and the others like analysts and company management just read along.

What we need to do is keep the qualuty of discussion high - very high!!!

Yes, and if we have to have occassional fights passionately, while discussing companies...so be it!

Quality never comes cheap! Many hearts and egos have to burn to come up with a SIGMA 6 end-product! But, by the end of the product cycle, everyone will be shaking hands again and talking coochie-coochie!

Congratualtions to the Leader, Basantji and all members who have made a such a strong mark that we are making our presence felt.   Stars will always get noticed and be appreciated no matter where they are.  When I hit TED around 4 months back via some google search - it was easily apparent that this forum is Different and has really high quality stuff shared on a regular basis( I hadn't seen a discussion form as good as this one..).
And with the recognition in media, it becomes even more important to maintain the high standards - maintaining and sustaining any excellent behavior may be even more difficult thing.  But I have no doubt about it with great minds like Devesh, xbox, om, smartcat, vivek and many others apart from the leader always enthusistically and actively sharing their knowledge and research - the people are our real strength and the value each one creates for others by sharing knowledge and research  and also the learning each person gets on a regular basis, all these  I think, creates a sustainable process somewhat.

Congratulations Basant,
It was a proud moment for all of us.
Mint is published by HT group, and I hope the next article will be in HT.
It was a nice coverage.

Truely speaking, I was expecting a very big article with a lot of interviews and stuffs like that. It was a little short of my expectations. None-the-less a small step for a big future.

Great to know that TED is going places & the media coverage reaffirms that there are numerous anonymous readers of TED.

Interesting vidoes on YouTube, Om babu!

Thanks Kulman babu. One day, almost every loyal TEDdy will be posting their views on YouTube anonymously while continuing to post views on the TED. Video plus text, makes some interesting content. And TED is always ahead of time. So, post on youtube too...helps in getting TED across to investors who may need something like it desperately(quality-wise)

And there are ways to do it anonymously like I have done in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6wV-Jo4slE - this recent video
