Provide all details PKB dada.

Some questions(among many):

Payment: how much? In what intervals?
What we get in return and for how long?
Any additional charges or hidden provisions, thru which they can change current terms and conditions? For e.g. increase charges after 25-30 years suddenly for any reason.
The payment covers how many people?

So provide all details that you cAn, so that we can make an informed decision.

PKB Dada,

I have studied this few years back and I am sure there would be no change, instead of taking the membership to club Mahindra, better apply for the shares in in the IPO. (Because according to my calculation Mahindra earns more than the subscribers !!)

You can get all the details on their site, if you come across to any of the sales person, I tell you they are really hardcore sales guys and will not let you go off.

The charges are very high ,you wont get accomodation if you apply for lower cat of payment because of the season rule they have and on top of it you need to pay yearly maintenance of around 10K (Cost of the food also high, Rs-350-500 per meal per head !!) This is the crux of the meeting I had with these guys long back...

Just wanted to provide an interesting input in this equation.
I recollect from a friend of mine that one can trade these memberships. These can be auctioned on e-bay and the premium that they demand when they are ripe is much higher...Will get futher details on this and get back.

Oh great so many good stories as eye opener
I am thinking for simple reasonings.
1. Almost once in yearly basis we plan for here and there to visit places and most of the time we travel. Sometime hotel booking etc become tedious. So I was thinking of coming out from that burden and to give the responsibility for the same to others.
2. Club Mahindra people called me few months back but I was reluctant to do so that time.
3. We were thinking of taking membership for hum do humare do concept.
(Though we travel with our brothers and sisters and their families most of the time)
4. As a member one can take the guests with them as I understand.
5. When we travel in group then there comes in different minds and thereby different selection. I was thinking of taking the membership and at least forcing the people to accept my view! (Sorry I am not a dictator though)
6. I have come across the people of country club. they have offered minimum membership of 85000/- for 99 years (four couples and two kids). They will provide a complementary 3 days 2 night paid trips (for once). and 7 days six nights (free accomodation ) for five years. They have other option like 1.75 lakhs (couples + two kids+ parents) and a land of 1089 sq ft in Bangalore Vedic spa! they are making some township in Kolad (maharashtra) and for that there are different charges.
8. Can we not take foods outside if the meal is costly?
9. I will definitely book if some one has a resort near the source of TISTA river above 16000 ft see level. Last time we visited North sikim and 16000 ft above sea in Zero point / glacier- the beauty is unforgettable. Our next plan is for ORIGIN of TISTA. that take MAhindra jeep three days from SIKIM.
10. In anyway I have the opinion that the business has the potential to keep people with them provided if they wish to do so.
11. Though exclusively for Country club my relative at Bangalore  has a different view.
In anyway I will definitely talk MAHINDRA people in this reagrd as long as there is no harm in hearing the speech.
ear friends wish to hear more and more from you all.

PKB dada, Tushar is right. Club Mahindra's memberships are traded.

In fact I bought one last year for 50K which was worth 2.5L. Instead of 25 years of membership, I had 23 years left in that. Rest all same, like you have to annual maintenance fee.

I was told that Club Mahindra's resorts are equivalent to 5 star facilities and are well maintained. This was the feed back given by my close friend and a relative who have used their facilities.

I am yet to use their facilities.

PKB JEE,
In case you do wish to purchase this membership take it  from a DSA they have a 10% cut on the deal and will most probably give you a discount ( in case they dont ,come back to me) The price shall rise by about 15000 from next month.
The offers for this month are also great. A lap top!!! and some more. This comapany is the best in the feild .I am a member and have taken a holiday to Munnar and Coorg.Coorg was great.
The only problem is the Annual Maint Charge thet will keep increasing with inflation.Do let me know for any other query.

is club mahindra under the umbrella of mahindra holidays and resorts which will come out with an IPO next year?

it could be a very interesting scrip to invest in.

what do you members of club mahindra think of mahindra holidays and resorts as an investment opportunity?

Posted By: aloksahi1971
Date Posted: 21/Dec/2007 at 12:26pm
The company has been having 100% growth year on year. The sales staff have a bad habit of exceeding targets all the time. The resorts are good and the Mahindras are incresing their resorts at a level of 2 a year. They also propose to expand into Africa and Europe .The Stage of expansion will increase with the IPO having more funds in hand.

anurag ji is club mahindra membership is transferable??
 if yes price thik karo.

Posted By: CHINKI
Date Posted: 15/May/2008 at 11:56am
Prashantji, membership is transferable provided the earlier member has cleared all his dues.

I bought one almost two years back under a resale like this. I don't remember how much Club Mahindra were charging for the new membership (White Studio: I think it was 1.75L or 1.5L). The earlier member had used 2 years of holidays and remaining holidays were also transferred.

I got it for 60K.

There is a blog where they mention lot of disadvantages of holding such memberships which is mentioned in the begining pages of this thread.

I looked at like this way. If I have to goto Kodai with family,I donot know anybody there. It's better trust some known reputed brands.

Recently I had been to their Yeracud (Near Salem) resort. It was nice and I feel it is worth to have one such membership.

Hello CHINKI,

Sure membership is good,
But every thing is good only at a price to a particular people.

A 3 star or 4 star resorts' buffet/accommodation  is not a value for money for your driver who goes along with you on the trip. It is only for you.

Similarly  ClubMahindra membership become bed when sales staff over commit on promises and deliver less thus altering value proposition. Most of the dissatisfaction with ClubMahindra is because of marketing staff which over commit to customer  to make membership attractive to him.

chinkiji u got it at very good price how??

Posted By: CHINKI
Date Posted: 16/May/2008 at 12:25pm
Bhupesh, fully agreed.

My initial deposit is 60K for 20 years which works out to 3K/year. Adding 7K maintenance charges per year, it works out to 10k/year for 7 days of holidays/year.

This works out to Rs.1300/day stay in any of their resort which is equivalent or more than 3 star accomdation.

Nowdays, everything has become so busy, if you can take out your family for holidays ( atleast 3 days)once in 6 months, it is great.

Under such circumstances, if you stay in any other hotels at the same places, it will be costlier than this rate.

Regarding someone's taste or affordability, it is private issue which I donot want to comment.

As far as the sales people overagressiveness to sell, tell me which company rep. will not do?? I had the same experience with a sales rep. of Eureka Forbes when we wanted to buy a wet Euro Cleaner. I had to speak to their office to reconfirm some of the things comitted by their sales rep.

So if you like anything, cross check with their office regarding benefits and other promises made by their rep.

It depends on both seller and buyer.

Like how much buyer has patience & how distress is the seller??

Very sorry to hear that.

If it is not inconvenient, please do share with us reasons for terrible loss. Was it because of your broker, F&O...?

If you feel this question is too personal, please ignore the same.

Aggressiveness and false commitment are two different things.

Have you seen any Car salesmen making false promise.  But  take any financeial product .. ULIP, Endowment etc .. most of the time  these products get mis sold. ClubMahindra membership also comes in same category ..  .. Even after 10 year in business they do not have mechanism to stop such practices of their staff. You know why!

Recently  Consumer court awarded 50,000/- to CM member for http://what-goes-in-my-mind.blogspot.com/2010/03/club-mahindra-fined-for-misleading.html - misleading customer

He was the one how had patient to go to court .. there are similar other cases listed on different complaint board.

Believe me you will have to reach to at least  Head Member Relation or Sales to get correct facts, even then you will not know all the fact about the membership.

hey  thank u ,
but i need ur  help ,for buying  a life membership from a existing member.
what all things should be get cleared  before negotiating...

1. Decide on membership you want to buy (do not buy other then Red or White-Studio  unless you have large family) .

2.  Filter entries from your city or where you can travel easily.

3. Ask for membership start date, accumulated weeks, transfrables benefits.  (once you have negotiated on price,  if you live in same city, you may ask to see membership certificate and  yearly utilisation- payment  statement.)

4. Ask CM local office or 39880000 number for transfer process.

5. Both of you can go to local CM office and complete the formalities.

( I have no direct experience in transfer process)

Not sure if we can continue membership discussion on this thread without annoying other reader .. one last time ..

Problem with Blue membership :

1) You can only book in Blue and White season, also to book in white season you will have to wait until 15 days before vacation start date .. by that time nothing will be available ..

2) There are very limited weeks per year in each resort in Blue season.
see this link  http://www.clubmahindra.com/week%20ClasSification%20Chart.pdf - Season chart

3) You will be paying ASF same as other higher season members. (~8k  per year, this will increase every year).

Expect the most with A|Club Loyalty Card! Your A|Club membership upgrades automatically to Silver, Gold or Platinum status as soon as you reach the required number of nights or A|Club points. You'll be able to enjoy your new advantages for at least a full year. The more you stay, the more benefits you get.
