Hi manish,

Although I tend to agree with you most of the times, yet in my opinion Chapell is to be blamed squarely for this non-sense. He disturbed the fabric..... he left out Zaheer who in my opinion is the only equivalent of Leander Paes in our... err BCCI's team. He badly treated VVS and Saurav...Just at the end of the test matchs we wre crying for experience now we will cry youngsters. Has Sri lanka ever tried to send Jayasuriya in the middle order....the issue here is change management....he( Guru) handpicked a wrong captain who doesnt know how to marshal resources.... he doesnt know how to handle difference of opinion.. we seem to have given up all arts of fighting under him. Sri Lanka in its today's form has a lot to do with Arjuna Ranatunga and Aravinda De Silva, both overweight but extremely efficient. as far as bench goes, the problem is even youngsters are being baby-fed. On any given day, Kumble has a fighter instinct superior to the likes of Munafs.... evn on a deadly pitch I would have a kumble and not a munaf. The point is being a good fielder should be a sufficient condition but not the necessary condition for being in the team. Pakistan in th Imran days always boasted of heavy bulky players like Javed Miandad and Salim Malik and Ejaz Ahmed.... but it was such a deadly team. even Inzamam was handpicked by him...the thing is even their No. 11 batsman will think of hitting a six if given a situation and will never bother and our No. 1 batsman are unable to clear the infield during power plays. and you talk of changing pitches..... manish, you cant correct incorrigibles. the tragedy is Indians no longer have the passion.... bench strength..... its all in the zeal... look at bangladesh.... their zeal, their passion. Look at New Zealand, Australia...the tragedy is our players dont know their role....look at glen mcgrath.... if you hit him for a six, he will shrug his head as if he has realised his mistake. Whereas our bowlers will look so helpless. Even England may not be a very strong team but they have wonderful fighting ability at times. They got a 5-0 drubbing at Ashes but went on to win the trination continental Cup....the likes of Collingwoods, Pieterson, Nixons are all fighters to the core and on top of it they have Flintoff. Flintoff was also unfit but he has always been a force. Ganguly never looked so meek as does this ladla. Even his sight maks me mad nowadays. He, his Guru and his cronies are an eye-sore.... India dont need a wall India... err BCCI needs somebody who can flow......he taks up responsibility without resigning.... does acceptance means by show of words....if you accept responsibility for defeat, you should quit....but such people dont deserve honorable exits.... they have to be booted out.Th thing is Indian have forgotten to play with their hearts.... they play with their minds but ar so mindless that even their minds give up. And top of it, its the media, their advertisers who are to be blamed..... so if a swimmer from a country like Surinam which has just a one world class swimming pool can win a gold medal at Olymics.... trust you me, we dont need infrastructure for success....all we need is to learn to fight.... and this ladla and his guru has blinded all the players with hsi idiot like approach.

Regards,

vivek

Vivek, the more I think about the whole thing the more I get convinced that the bigger players will not go. They have been booked for 2-3 years on endorsements we can keep discussing all this but the bottomline is that those companies who have paid crores to Sachin Tendulkar and the likes will get no mileage if Sachin is not in the team. You can't have all players do that famous Pepsi ad "Bhoole toh nahin!"

Now Greg will have to go because he has no endorsements and also we need to axe someone but while I have always argued against Greg Chappel I am convinced that the heavy weights at the BCCI will not drop the player who is making most of the endorsements.Greg has is interested in is his professional career that he makes out of BCCI. He is like the TAU on TV.

The problem is that killer instinct when Saurav was the captain we had hope til the last over Ashish Nehra and  Zaheer Khan were never the best of the lot in the world but Ganguly gave us the hope that he could beat any team not anyday but from any part of the day!

Bubblevision should take Dravid to Ed Seykota - He seemed so terrified of losing. Surely advise toh sab dete hai but it matters from whom you take it from and in this case Rahul still needs some good advice.

He did make 60 in the last game but we understand that his 60 was of no significance. We had almost lost the match by the time he reached 30. I mean look at how S Africa went about chasing 378 yesterday and look at how we went about chasing 254!

I think the onus lies on the Media to blow this up as they had before the World cup and they would because what they need is TRP but in their quest for higher TRP at least Indian cricket adminstrators would be under some pressure  (shame) to reclaim the honour if at all they are capable of doing that.

Sharad Pawar spoke  yesterday let us concentrate on 2011. I mean what is this crap all about let the 2007 world cup end!Are we are not going to play any game before 2011?

Cricket is not like the markets - there is no long term here. We should have players who are nearer to all time highs on break outs. there is no case for land bank and investment holdings, no one should think of buying a small cap that will become a large cap tomorrow.

What matters is the players (companies) that will do well on the day of the match (trading week) and not the ones which have bad quarterly numbers but higher Book value.

I hope that like the fundmanagers who visit this site the BCCI guys also read through this.

All I know that a potential match between  "Team BCCI vs Pakistan" has been converted into "Ireland vs Bangladesh" match. LOL

If I rembember correctly one of the channels already have had a programme on the TeamBCCI vs Pak match...even before the WC started!

I was surprised to know that BCCI is a private company with equity capital of 1 dollar, established in England. As per sources, it has 120000 Cr of assets and last year it reportedly spend 18000 Cr to curb match-fixing. It has no know promoter.
In USA and Europe, sport organizations are public listed companies where all details are there with public. I guess, one day income tax department raids bcci and gets all things in public.
