I am not assuming. It is part of the business.
TATA had tie up with one of the oil company ( I don't remember the company), but still they did not do well.

I dont understand the coexistence of both BP and castrol in the same business and competing with one another.

That time TATA MOTORS was promoting BP Lub products. Now they have joined hand in Power segment with solar power.

That was before BP taking over Castrol.
Even after merger, BP decided to keep lot of brands of Castrol both in Automotive and Industrial segments as they had already made good market in India.

In case of multi-grade oils, castrol scores much above its main competitors in the public sector.
Also, Castrol Bike Zones will gradually spread its wings, although I think they need to stabilise their operations.

More than the quality it is the brand advertisement as well as network particularly with the mechanics which made Castrol to capture very good market in India.
