TheMatador,

SRF has run up a lot recently. Its holding company Kama Holdings (formerly SRF Polymers. It holds 4.4 shares of SRF for every share of Kama Holding) is interesting. It is going through reorganization. Wait and see if they declare dividend after reorganization.

OK, thank you!!! But holding companies always trade at discountConfused. I read in blogs that SOBET  films is highly lucrative business is that true and do you what's the contribution of this business.
Keep digging...one day you will find the mineral beneath.

amanj86,

Yes, Kama shareholders will have one real estate company (the other two are really small private estates). All SRF share holdings will be directly shown (earlier promoter holdings were through subsidiaries). This flat structure should be easy to understand. If you read carefully, Kama got some SRF shares from promoters at a good discount to market prices during restructuring (have you seen such behavior of promoters anywhere else?). I am impressed with the promoters.

Disclosure: I own both SRF and Kama

I bought SRF at 235
My reason for buying it was that u're getting a good company at a reasonable P/E and high dividend yield

Today it has doubled its weight in my portfolio

The Dogs of the Dow is an investment strategy popularized by Michael O'Higgins, in 1991 which proposes that an investor annually select for investment the ten Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks whose dividend is the highest fraction of their price.

The following stocks have good dividend yields -
Jetking Infotrain, M. M. Forgings, Gujarat NRE Coke, Graphite India, Shiva Texyarn, Cybertech System, Flex Foods, NCL Industries, Shipping Corporation of India, GRM Overseas and Jolly Board
