I would play BoP through HDFC (or HDFC warrants preferrably) for its

a. housing finance - every person wants to invest in his own home one day. Its a big opportunity. lots of people moving to cities continuously shoud keep that momemntum going.
b. Its other businesses like  Insurance are small today compared to housing finance, but insurance will be sought after by all these bottom of pyramid one day. Its also a big opportunity.
c. proven story, so less possibility of negative surprises.  But that may also mean steady growth.

The Government of India’s (GoI) Eleventh Plan has envisaged a capital
expenditure of over Rs.6,665 bn for the country’s power sector in order to
ensure “Power for All”. The GoI’s Common Minimum Program is focusing on
achieving 100% village electrification by the year 2009 and 100%
household electrification
by 2012.

So that means more power to villages and households.
So Companies selling switches, fans, CFLs, even ACs, all electrical consumer goods (Bajaj electricals, Crompton Greaves, Khaitan, Blue star, Voltas, Havells, etc.,)
