Good summation from someone who knows the business.

There might be some listing gains from db corp if markets stay where they are, but over a long time, from what I have seen, newspaper companies are not big money spinners. Current upmove in these companies is mainly due to decline in newsprint prices, which may run up again.

Yes these multicity editions under different companies often lead to unsavoury disputes among promoters.IN DB Corp case the present owner RC Agarwal had a bitter fight with his own father & stepsister .In 1992 his father disowned him & case went on till 2003.AS such DB corp cant operate in UP,certain districts of MP,Mahrashtra even now.

Even recently CLB member R Vasudevan was arrested in case related between 2 owners of Amar Ujala another hindi news paper.

Seems that the pie for the Vernacular medium is extremely lucrative.

Ambit capital has come out with an exhaustive report strongly recommending investment in Indian print sector with assured growth for next 4-5 years specially in Hindi newspaper segment.Thos who r interested in report can mail me at [email protected]

Tomorrow only the 2nd option in hindi newspaper DB corp is listing.Be ready at 9AM & pick it up around 230-240 rs
& can get fantastic intra day gains & further gains if held on.
