While it's true that India and China are doing relatively better small companies aren't exactly dead in USA. Atleast in Silicon Valley tonnes of companies are coming up every day (many headed by desis).
While it's true that jobs can go any where it's kind of hard for very high paying jobs in Finance and Technology to move abroad since India/China are simply not at the same level of evolved skill set or exposure.
I do agree with you about the truck driver part but my Understanding is that USA's economic dominance was built on softpower, technology and finance which still remains very much intact despite the economic bust.
