TRAI mulls DTH prices regulation
At my place (Sahakaranagar, Bangalore), cable person is offering digital connection at Rs.999/- for STB with 200 channels and Rs.200/- per month fee.
For DTH, STB rates as well as monthly subscription rates will be higher if you want to have 200 channels. Infact too many packages and too much confusing.

I have taken set top box from the cable person instead of a DTH connection....it has good features and many channels including a french channel (which I like as I intend to learn french shortly)

Same case with me in Blore. I have taken Digital Cable from Hathaway - 1000 Rs. for STB and 200 per month for 260 channels (Analog cable was same 200 per month, so just had to pay extra for STB - digital content and more importantly the EPG. At my home in Tamilnadu, we have taken Tata Sky, and if i want all the channels that i am getting now in Hathway, i would need to opt for pretty much all the packages they have, which would come to around 400 per month. For example, in Tata Sky, ESPN/STAR package is 40 per month and Neo/Neo Cricket package is 30 per month. Here i get all sports channels including Ten Sports and Zee.

The market is a place where people with money meet people with experience.
The people with experience get the money while people with money get experience!

M-pay new battleground for DTH players?
DTH operators should increase these value added services very fast. Otherwise, cablewala will still rule the transmission.
