Read the relevant portion:

Basant Maheshwari, 36, the founder of www.theequitydesk.com, an investment group, has been investing in the market for the last 16 years and makes a living out of his investments. He looks out whether the scale of opportunity in a stock is big. He bought Pantaloon Retail because retail was a $450-billion industry (Rs 21.87 lakh crore) and there was customer shift in 2003. He made 35 times in this stock before selling it in November 2008. He also owns Titan as the jewellery market size in India is around Rs 1,00,000 crore and the organised or branded market has only a 5 per cent share in it. He believes in holding sector leaders and has never invested in cyclical stocks.

In March 2008, it became clear to Maheshwari that fund raising would not be easy for corporates. He was invested in Yes Bank, which needed cash to grow. He then started looking for companies that could grow through internal funding. He sold Yes Bank at a marginal loss at Rs 160 (purchase price was Rs 175) and bought Titan Industries at Rs 900. He says: "Titan has a franchise model and grows mostly on franchise money. So, while Titan has remained where it was in March, Yes Bank has dropped 70 per cent from that level. I made money by not losing it."

Soon Basant will end up like Warren Buffett and SEBI will grant him special concessions so he won't have to make disclosures till he has completed his purchases/sales!
