I suggest everyone keep updating this thread with those stocks whose prices are close to or less than their book value and have a good dividend yield :
Kindly mention the CMP date , the FV , and the source of your data for others to verify and do their own number crunching .
I am starting with Tata Steel
On 10 Oct 2008
Tata Steel's
CMP : Rs.287.50
Book Value : Rs.311.00 ( according to myiris.com )
Last Dividend Per Share : Rs.16
Face Value = Rs.10
Price to BV : 0.92 Div Yield as on date : 5.56%

Book Value Rs. : 153 ( according to myiris.com )
FV = Rs.10
Last Dividend : Rs.10
Price /Book Value = 1.52
Dividend Yield as on date : 4.28 %

what is your opinion on 1) lloyd electrics and engineering and 2)Bharti Shipyard?

No Sirji, I stay away from electric companies which promise to give electrifying returns and give a shock instead. As far as shipyards go, have never bothered to even look at them, for I have enough of shipping with me. They can do well only if shipping does well, and in case shipping does bad, no one will shed a tear for these shipyards.

Proportionately re-adjust book-value and DPS with the bonus ratio.
Take dividend to be 10*2/3
And Book value to be 153*2/3.
