Oursourcing of a new kind
TLSJ Exclusive

A new trend is emerging. There is a huge demand for services of Indian fortune tellers like BhagyeLaals & PopatLaals from Wall Street institutions.

TLSJ learns that as an effort to cut costs, apart from downsizing (kicking out highly paid suit-boot waale MBA analysts) major Wall Street banks are considering outsourcing economic forecasting to Indian PopatLaals (Parrot based Fortune Tellers) & BhagyeLaals (Astrologers). It would be a kind of  FPO (Forecasts Process Outsourcing)

Why forecasting goes wrong so often

economists have some special problems. To start, there is groupthink. It’s much easier to be wrong with the crowd than to take the risk of being wrong all alone. The forecasters mostly use similar models, so they naturally come out with similar results.

Their main flaw, though, is that they predict the past rather than the future. The models are supposed to identify relevant historical patterns, which are too often assumed to continue indefinitely.

Unfortunately, the past is an imperfect guide. All in all, it might just make sense to replace the forecasters’ sophisticated models with a nice tarot deck.

So don't be surprised if you see these pictures on business channel like CNBC.....

  Capricorn

The issues never go away, but your approach is fresh and untried. See how things have changed in your mind based on what Mr. Market is doing.

Call the experienced people who can help you and seek their moral support. If they're in the same boat as you, even Lord may not be able to save you both.

Lately you would use the calculator more for figuring out the equation related to number of MPs required by UPA to save this government.

A period of greater social involvement - especially with your in-laws. That will be more for seeking finanacial help. Be open to questions about your checkered past in respect to your stock market performance. You might feel like harrassing your wife again to extract some dowry.

You will strangely stop the 4-year old habit of looking at mutual funds' NAVs every morning. The 6 pages Big Bucks supplement will now be used more for packing purpose.

Jai ho!

Taurus

Your sensual feelings and passions are strong and compelling at this time. Yet the overnight news from NYSE will make you feel weak. Tensions may erupt in close relationships because your spouse feels that you have been performing poorly in the bed due to an affair with some firangi named Fed.

Some times markets will let you down. This is something you need to come to terms with ASAP. Not only will it make your ride a little easier, it will also save you an awful lot of disappointment. Right now you need to reverse your thinking: It is only through our failings, our foibles and our mistakes that we begin to approach and understand the nature of perfection.

You might suddenly become religious moreover knowing your current condition you might be trapped by people who practice Reiki, Tarrot,  Tantric voodoo, Precious Lucky Stone sellers etc. Remember it would be better to waste money in RNRL/RPL than these Sadhus & Babas.

People who put their savings only in PPF & Bank FDs play a more important role in your life now, as a new cycle begins. You're coming into a new phase of life.

You may not be able to laugh heartily these days as some vital body organs might ache when you try to smile.

Jai ho!

Thank God it's not Friday?

Concerned over leakage of sensitive data on price rise, the government has decided to release the inflation figures on Thursdays instead of Fridays.

We learn that PM was influential in this decision. Rumours have it that he was unhappy with announcement at 12 Baje on Fridays.

TLSJ
wishes to warn readers that by preponing such announcements by a day it's not going to reduce inflationary pressures in the economy.
