Topic: Markets on your mobile Posted: 10/Oct/2007 at 9:17pm |
Recently, I tested the newly launched "markets on mobile" by moneycontrol.com and found it to be fabulous. While, connecting to bseindia.com using a GPRS connection is nothing new, this service has all the facilites that one would want .... a live updated-by-the-minute porfolio manager, sensex ticker, indian markets individual indices and stock quotes, major international market indices (!), market news on the markets in general and individual stocks also, all on your mobile phone and as of now is free!
While some others do offer this facilites on the mobile, (E.g Sharekhan does, but it is not user friendly), Airtel provides a Porfolio manager, but it is charegeable)...This facility is very useful for people like me, for whom, most of the time , access to the live market is thru the mobile...
In case, TEDies have any other experinces on the same do post the same...

You will get a link to download the moneycontrol mobile application as soon as you login into your Moneycontrol.com portfolio.
I use this service everyday on my mobile. It is good, yes, but is not 'touchscreen enabled'. The links only work with keys and arrows. Since my mobile doesn't have 'keys', I can't access some of the features.

initially these services will be free as with any other net based service offering in India....So as more and more such services gather momentum, its the network service provider who is going to be the winner! I read somewhere that GPRS/EDGE markets in India are going to explode....let me get that link..

Ya, as on date it is free and it is possible that it may become chargeable sometime in the future, till then it make the best of it, since I am not aware of any other site/company which offers such services for free...
