An unemployed man goes to apply for a job with Infosys as a janitor. The manager there arranges for him to take an aptitude test (Section: Floors, sweeping and cleaning).

After the test, the manager says, "You will be employed at minimum wage, Rs. 250 per day. Let me have your e-mail address, so that I can send you a form to complete and tell you where to report for work on your first day.

Taken aback, the man protests that he has neither a computer nor an e-mail address. To this the HR manager replies, "Well, then, that means that you virtually don't exist and can therefore hardly expect to be employed.

Stunned, the man leaves. Not knowing where to turn and having only Rs. 200 in his wallet, he decides to buy a 10 Kgs tomatoes at the wholesale mandi. Within less than 2 hours, he sells all the tomatoes individually at 100% profit. Repeating the process several times more that day, he ends up with almost Rs. 800 before going to sleep that night.

And thus it dawns on him that he could quite easily make a  living selling tomatoes. Getting up early every day and going to bed late, he multiplies his profits quickly.

After a short time he acquires a cart to transport several dozen boxes of tomatoes, only to have to trade it in again so that he can buy a pickuptruck to support his expanding business. By the end of the second year, he is the owner of a fleet of pickup trucks and manages a staff of a hundred former unemployed people, all selling tomatoes.

Planning for the future of his wife and children, he decides to buy some life insurance. Consulting with an insurance adviser, he picks an insurance plan to fit his new circumstances. At the end of the telephone conversation, the adviser asks him for his e-mail address in order to send the final documents electronically.

When the man replies that he has no e-mail, the adviser is stunned, "What, you don't have e-mail? How on earth have you managed to amass such wealth without the Internet, e-mail and e-commerce? Just imagine where you would be now, if you had been connected to the internet from the very start!"

After a moment of thought, the tomato millionaire replied, "Why, of course! I would be a floor cleaner at Infosys!"

Moral of this story:
1. The Internet, e-mail and e-commerce do not need to rule your life.
2. If you don't have e-mail, but work hard, you can still become a millionaire.
3. Since you got this story via e-mail, you're probably closer to becoming a floor cleaner than you are to becoming a millionaire.

Kulmanji,

I have a friend out here in Pune, a self-made muti-millionaire who refuses to have an email i.d. or a cellphone. He is highly educated and yes,

His son works for Infosys though not as the janitor.

A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled
it over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach
the buttons on the phone, and proceeded to punch in seven digits.  The
store owner observed and listened to the conversation:
The boy was speaking to a lady. The conversation was -

The boy asked, "Lady, can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? The
woman replied, "I already have someone to cut my lawn."

"Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts your
lawn now," replied the boy. The woman responded that she was very satisfied
with the person who was presently cutting her lawn.

The little boy found more perseverance and offered, "Lady, I'll even sweep
your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn
in all of North Palm beach , Florida ."

Again the woman answered in the negative. With a smile on his face, the
little boy replaced the receiver.

The store owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy and
said, "Son, I like your attitude. I like your positive spirit and would
like to offer you a job."

The little boy replied, "No, thanks, I was just checking my performance on
the job I already have. I'm the one who is working for that lady I was
talking to!"

So if you happen to measure your performance, no one else can be better
than you.

Cheers/VJ

Ek Gadha:- Yaar mera malik mujhe bahut maarta hai.

Dusara Gadha:- To tu bhag kyu nahi jata.

Pehla Gadha:- Bhag to jata par yahan future bada bright hai ...malik ki khoobsurat beti jab shararat karti hai to malik kahta hai, "Teri shaadi gadhe se kar dunga...!" Bas isi ummeed me baitha hoon........

Keeping Hopes may not improve your future, but it will certainly reduce the pain of Today !!

Slightly different note, but I would like to strongly recommend a book on the above subject - "The Power of NOW" by Eckhart Tolle. Surely, worth a read, where the author toches on how to transform your life and thinking by liberating oneself from the past and future
There are two times in a man's life when he should not speculate-when he can't afford it and when he can-Happy investing!

Thanks.

The power of Now! I'm already reading that one based on a recommendation from a virtual friend.

The Corporate language !!
What the manager speaks & what it really means....

"We will do it"
means
" You will do it"

"You have done a great job"
means
"More work to be given to you"

"We are working on it"
means
"We have not yet started working on the same"

"Tomorrow first thing in the morning"
means
"Its not getting done...At least not tomorrow !".

"After discussion we will decide - I am very open to views"
means
"I have already decided, I will tell you what to do"

"There was a slight miscommunication"
means
"We had actually lied"

"Lets call a meeting and discuss"
means
"I have no time now, will talk later"

"We can always do it"
means
"We actually cannot do the same on time"

"We are on the right track but there needs to be a slight extension of the deadline"
means
"The project is screwed up, we cannot deliver on time."

"We had slight differences of opinion"
means
"We had actually fought"

"Make a list of the work that you do and let's see how I can help you"
means
"Anyway you have to find a way out no help from me"

"You should have told me earlier"
means
"Well even if you told me earlier that would have made hardly any
difference!"

"We need to find out the real reason"
means
"Well I will tell you where your fault is"

"Well... family is important, your leave is always granted. Just ensure that the work is not affected"
means
"Well you know..."

"We are a team"
means
"I am not the only one to be blamed"

"That's actually a good question"
means
"I do not know anything about it"
