Mungerilal: "Bunty.....have you heard Jack & Johny's discussion about hedging? Now don't ask me about it, okay?

Bunty: "Yes I understood it fully. Yet in my English dictionary,  another meaning of Hedging is give as: An intentionally noncommittal or ambiguous statement. Reminds of a business TV anchor, right Papa?"

Mungerilal: "Angry...Bh%$^...."

Sorry to disturb Kulmanjee for intrusion, but dont you think this is going to benefit companies like  Edelweiss who are acquiring skills in hedging (and they have huge market, I think hedging will become an intergral part of business in the changing global economy and those who acquire knowledge and skills shd get benefitted...

(P.S- I am not doing advt for edelweiss here)

Nitin

I have the following modification for this :

Johnny : " Pops ..first it was hexaware..then it was some private banks ..now its L&T ..everyone is hedging and loosing money ..what is this hedging  exactlyUnhappy"

Marie ( Johnny's Mom ) : Johnny ,Hedging is what your Dad does daily to earn other income sitting at home itself and so far I am yet to see any earnings from his hedgings and see him doing only averaging .

Jack : " Angry Bu#$%$..."

To achieve satisfactory investment results is easier than most people realize ; to achieve superior results is harder than it looks .

So, let me know people and I will let my pal know.

Ohhhh was it you talking to him? I was trying at the same time and the line was engaged. Finally I could speak to him!

Here's the transcript:

RK: "Hello....yes?"
Kulman: "Hello....yes. Is it Yes bank?"
RK: "Yes it is yes bank. I'm RK speaking. Who's that?"
Kulman: "Oh Sir! Good afternoon Mr. RK. I'm kulman from TED. I was trying to contact you..."
RK: "I was in discussion with Om about QIP. I guess our placement is being discussed & guessed upon more on TED than in our own board meetings."
Kulman: "Tell me why don't you raise Tier-II capital?"
RK: "That's an easier option.  But then our cost of finds will go up affecting RoA."
Kulman: "What about bank's involvement in CDO, Fx derivatives."
RK: "Not very material is all I can say at the moment."
Kulman: "Will you be able to maintain growth rate of over 60% over next 2~3 years."
RK: "I understand your concern. I'm sure that you know that business doesn't grow in a straight line. These are challenging times yet we expect to grow more than the sector average."
Kulman: "But Sir if sector slows down considerably? With global factors looming large, US elections, high commodity prices, global warming, political uncertainty in India how will you cope up?"
RK: "Why don't you come & replace me here?"
Kulman: "Sir....I'm unable to hear you.....hello.... hello....the voice is cracking."

The most important quality for an investor is temperament, not intellect.A temperament that neither derives great pleasure from being with the crowd nor against it
