i have been following this site for over 6 months now ..... by following i mean reading it everyday and taking cues from the discussions .... must agree it is really nice and of high intellectual capital ... i work for equity research team which supports the fund manager in a broking house ... i must say that i was of the impression that either an IIM finanace graduate ( like my self ) or a dedicated resaerch analyst wouyld be capable of making such posts ... i must say i was rather amused when i saw the quality of posts and then mapped the posts back to the source from member profile and lets introduce ourselves .... i must say i stand corrected .... also a smalll observation here ... if you do a small excersie - newbie posts/senior memeber posts other threads and compare the same ratio to the this thread and another thread like short term calls - lets see our accuracy .... u can see a remarkable difference . this would mean the following things -

 

 1. there are lot of tip gatherers here ( which is fine ) ..... but the best part is the rate of conversion from tip gatheres to basants and kulmans and smartcats .

 

 2. probably here we can find out the motive of each member enrolled ...  i think posts per day is real good indicator  , and i believe that there a lot of people out there benefitting from the senior memebers .

 

 3 . I am sure there are lot of members who are just silent observers . i know this by experience - the other day i was talking to a colleague who quoted something i had just read in one of the treads ... and the audience ( incuding me ) was impressed ... later when i met him alone ... i tole hi `` why dont drop in a post or two when you read them in such details in TED ... he was surprised and before he would ask me the same ... we heard the closing bells so had to rush ....
