Devesh bhai, if you have the full report, send it to me. I like the way firangis write reports. They always compare stocks with companies in China or Middle East.

“DLF announced that it has sold a 49% stake in 7 projects spread over Chennai,  Bangalore, Kochi, Indore for a consideration of Rs14,810mn and 49% in the  housing project in Panchkula for Rs1,940mn to Brahma Investments. The total saleable area for the projects is 70mn sq ft (9% of the total land bank but 5% of total NAV). The sale only includes the residential portion of the projects. The total land cost is Rs 22,000 million

In real-estate, sometimes selling stakes makes more sense than selling apartments. Our biggies are quite fast in doing this.

Yes, a large number of mutual funds have exposure to DLF but it constitutes only 1 - 2% of their overall portfolio. This is surprising since DLF is a high profile company with a massive market cap and is expected to generate a net profit of Rs. 8,000 crores in FY09.

Real estate sector weightage in the indices will continue to go up. I wonder when these guys will wake up and smell the coffee.
