Topic: Opportunities from growing Security needs Posted: 08/Oct/2006 at 1:08pm |
Hi Basantji,
Could you pls move this post to the relevant topic..
I think the security threats to our nation and the threats of viruses are going to be big areas of opportunities.
Do you have any ideas or explored about the companies who can take up this challenge and scale up as this is a huge opportunity as I hope and would like to see every indian home/office /public place is wired in next 15 yrs. Can Zicom become big in this area?
Any views

There is another company subex Azure which is into the security solutions and doing well. There are so many research firms recommending this stock. I also read an article sometimes back the company's security product has a global acceptance and a good market. The company sells the software and earns AMC also.
If anybody is having details can analyse, as the security will be a greatplay in the future.

Being Sunday I thought most of you could have fun reading this. What stocks could we buy if this happens. It talks about Iran and Iraq invading Europe and using missiles on Rome, using Nuclear weapons against the US etc.
Yesterday Zee news had a full 30 minute story of how Osama "Uncle" has transferred Nuclear weapons into US through Mexico and how in an interview to Hamid Mir the AL Qaida had said about the possibility of using these weapons on New York.
Now I tried to think that if Osama "Uncle" were to use these weapons why would be caution the US before hand. I tried to search on this and found that the Quaran says that the enemy needs to be warned before it is attacked so Uncle is doing what the Holy Quaran wants him to do.
Broadly I thought that it was stupid on Zee news's part to show such idiotic things on Tv to gain TRP points. I am not concerned with whether this would happen or not - that only time will tell but what matters is the kind of fear that AL Qaida could put into the minds of people across the globe and that is what they wanted probably.

Fear might give sleepless nights to some but it also provides great business opportunity for some as rising security concerns come as boon for the makers of security equipments, such as CCTV, Acces Control Devices , Scanner, movement sensors and intruder alarm. "Mere deployment of security guard is not enough as anti burglars are adopting newer techniques, it led to rethinking of the security requirement of the customers," says, D E Byramjee, Vice President, Security Equipment Division, Godrej. With globalisation, India is fast becoming a big market of security equipment as according to the experts, the total spending on security equipment in India is around Rs 2000 crore per annum and is growing at the rate of 30 per cent per annum. Experts divide industry into three broad segments namely traditional equipment such as locks, steel fabricated doors, then premise security equipment such as CCTV, numerically locked doors fitted with cameras and other movement sensor equipments and lastly the hi-end electronic equipments such sensor of every kind, restricted access control and scanners of different kinds. "Now instead of only equipment customers are demanding the complete security solutions and this means a complete network of equipment connected to each other," he says.
However, the boom in the market is driven by the demands from the commercial establishments, as now vital installations in the country are rethinking on their needs and moreover there is also a big diversification in the requirements.
