i know little about D Link. But it is closely related business.

MroTek makes good products, particularly their products with technology from RAD are excellent.
we are using few of them, having purchased some time back.

they have good manufacturing and service base.
At least 2 years back i knew some people who were there with the company for more than decade.

they were affected for few years due to the cheap imports and sl*ggsh market on broadband.

seems to have good management.

sp tulsian used to recommend this stock.

the positive side as i think is: now electronics manufacturing sector is improving in india. with broadband and wireless data gaining ground, there is huge demand likely to come up for the kind of equipments they are making. Also transmission (bulk data transport) network is gaining lime light due to huge bandwidth requirement likely to come up due to tremendous growth of net and also due to content oriented surfing which is bandwidth hungry. they are also in some of the transmission related equipments.

their website: http://www.mro-tek.com/html/about_us_company_profile.htm

May be we can get some more info from our Bangaluru TEDies...

offers very good value. They had 33 cr cash in march 07 and have used around 9 cr for the buy back since then... its debt free, so EV  is around 67 cr. Considering they are on  track to do 14-15 cr PAT this year, it does seem a bit of a no-brainer.

If you buy for a non-value reason, you will end up selling for a non-value reason.

I would avoid investing in technology product companies like D-Link or MRO-TEK. But had we been in 2000, these two would have been in Sensex or Nifty.

These companies can swing into losses and then come back to profits later. That's because the products they make is not unique - everybody makes it and the price difference will be a few hundred rupees.

These companies are not wealth creators.

I am noticing an interesting trend....many of the mid tier IT companies are going for buy back of shares. Its difficult to fathom out that in difficult period like these , whem margins as well rupee dollar are causing pressure, these companies are going for buyback. Igate, Mastek is what I am talking about. I was expecting a slew of buy backs from MNC pharmas like Mercks and novartis but after Abbott no one has displayed any courage when actually they are sitting on plum amount of cash. IT companies are also sitting on cash but then when you are running through a rough patch, you should go for buy back only if you see conditions improving in the future. i dont think these managements are so foolish.......definitely they may be spotting something which we may be missing. i understand MRo TEK is not an IT company per se, yet its allied to that industry. Now, the results have also improved.......so isnt there some smoke......
