Mouthshut.com is India's largest consumer review site. Looking at consumers' opinion about our favorite company seems to make lot of sense. If I go around telling people that Dish TV is junk, it is just an opinion of a single individual. But if 100 people say the same thing, there might be something to think about.

Here -
 
- Higher the rating, the better. 5 out of 5 is good, 1 out of 5 is obviously bad!
 
- If a company has 5 stars but only 2 reviews, one shouldn't give too much weightage to it. After all, it is the opinion of just 2 individuals.
 
- There doesn't seem to be relation between ratings and wealth creation. People don't seem to have high opinion about Bharti Airtel/ICICI bank, but stock has performed well.

Tata Sky has a 3 out of 5 rating, with 138 reviews. That should more or less end the debate on which is better - Tata Sky or Dish TV.
 
It is quite obvious that we are not satisfied with the service we get from our banks and our cellphone company. Almost all the banks/mobile operators have poor ratings.

No rigging/booth capturing allowed. You need to sign up to vote. But no, they won't paint your fingernails with the blue ink - so it is not foolproof.
 
The reason for low ratings for a few companies could be that - only when you are angry and looking for a way to vent your anger, you go to mouthshut to mouth off.

But if a product has made you angry then the product must have given the bitter experience, right. in that case, its right to mouth off so that others can be dissuaded from buying that product. Good word-of-mouth spread.......although I am surprised at tata being good at consumer oriented business like DTH, yet this only confirms the superiority of tata sky over dish.
