If we compare with MF than in that case, XI will have much better performance than above considering:

No entry exit load (of course there will be some brokerage)
No Annual asset management charges
Annual dividend

A tiny correction. When stocks held by a mutual fund gives dividend, it adds to the NAV of the fund. The AMC doesn't pocket it.

I read in a business fortnightly that SS takes home Rs. 4 crores per annum + incentives.

TED XI is playing the growth in the insurance sector with HDFC. But HDFC insurance doesn't seem to be very aggressive - I don't think it is among the top 10 private insurance players. Reliance Capital seems to be more aggressive than even ICICI or Bajaj Alliance.
