Thanks OmJi and ChinkiJi for the welcome. Although a newbie, I hope to contribute as much as possible. As for Nick Leeson, It was a concious effort to distinguish on a board that has Buffet, TEDies, and Lynch as its idols. Equities is a vast world and I am just a starter.

In an investment bank, what kind of 'training' do they give you on equities? Do they just give you a bunch of books to read up?

Dont know what kind of training they give as yet to join them. One thing i know is that they expect you to be an excel sheet jockey!! :) .. now if only excel sheets could bring out the value in firms.. then...

Mr Agarwal.....Learn up excel (making all kind of charts, using all the excel formula's and their functions) while you are currently not working full time. A good knowledge in that is the best help which is available.

Use Excel "Help" function for Learning, as it is priceless.

Learn VBA if possiable with Macros.
