I guessed Damani is a Marwari, bcoz Basant jee had mentioned sometime on TED, that RD ji is somewhat distantly related!

I dont know about Khandelwal and Dayal. Sabharwal's are traditionally Punjabi's.
Jhunjhunwala, and Dalmia are marvari's from Raj.
Jindal's are Marvari's from Haryana.

Garg is Marvari. GARG is also a "Gotra", one of the 17.5 gotra's.
Bansal is also Marvari and is also a "Gotra".
Ansal...dont know, but Kansal is Marvari and is the "Half Gotra".
I will try and find the 17.5 gotra names and try to post it.
I immidiately recall some of the gotra's ...Goyal, Garg, Jindal, Bindal, Kansal, Bansal.

I have found a very good link about Marvari's and their tradation.
This states that there are 25 gotras, which I am unsure of. However by reading this page, one would know a lot about Marvari's.
BasantJi... There is something about Maheshwari's also.
