Don't think SKS can be valued purely based on profit numbers.

The data of people they hold would also have significant value (one of the prime reasons why UID project is being undertaken) which probably is difficult to put a figure - any marketer would be ready to pay for this data. How they grow on no. of people/no. of branches and drive the AUM would be probably driving the future? Diversifying and getting into new businesses for this segment would not be very difficult given the network and reach which the MFI players can reach.

Grameen Bank for example got into housing loans, fisheries, phones, educating, training etc. etc. for the poor.

Banker to the Poor by Mohammed Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank is an excellent read.

This seems like an expensive issue though I will apply may become like Biocomn and Edelweiss touted but have not delivered. I will apply out of habit but I have my reservation on the price.

I sense a potential conflict of interest with this IPO of SKS.
Will the management work to maximize sharholders returns at the cost of the  borrowers ?

IPO price band 850--895. Will this trigger share prices of already listed MF companies like ARMAN FINANCIAL SERVICES and SE INVESTMENTS which are also growing handsomely.

Little Birdie told me about 25% premium, but I have an IPO allergy.

Today SE INVESTMENTS management came  on CNBC. Udayan stating SKS microfinance not the only stock in microfinance sector but even SE INVESTMENTS in microfinancing.(By the way even ARMAN FINANCIAL SERVICES is a NBFC into microfinancing).
buy low sell high.
