And i thought this I was just indulging in value seeking behavior. Smile

Peter Templeton and his wife used to play a game of who could buy the most discounted articles.  I have bored my wife so much with stories of Hawkins/TTK, Cera, greenply/archidply/century that she expects me to get some coupons for her. Dead

Yes, that book was/is a phenomenal read. Also Philip Fisher wore the same coat and drove his Oldsmobile9 for 20 years so he did not need those coupons also.Smile

Actually a Hawkins stock purchase breaks even in one year

On an average a hawkins costs about 800 buck.
25% dicount=Rs 200 saved.

One stock of Hawkins was quoting at Rs 200 sometime back...it's run up a bit now. Smile

Maybe a lot of discount coupon hunters are buying this stock.

On another note: Now that i am looking into stocks...I am intensely aware of deprecation....I found that my car purchase is the worst purchase i ever made....It is not an asset but a liability.

Ideally it should be interest paid divided by the debt but since we do not know if the debt was for 365 days or 200 days one has to ask the management about this?
