Here is a Brief Introduction of Myself:
Name - Jagannathan
Age - 30
Location - Chennai
Occupation - Software Engineer
Interests - Basically a guy interested in Current Affairs, Economics, Public Finances, Investment, Social Trends and related topics . Spend my spare time, reading books, learning about history, browsing internet, learning new facts about the world, spirituality/philosophy, movies , music and window shopping.
Investments - Very difficult to summarise in a single line so elaborating here.
Been investing last 6 years... still would consider myself to be a rookie only. Basically a funda investor (but i do try to watch charts if i can make sense)... invest for SMT , MT , LT (Short-Medium Term, Medium Term and Long Term). I am more of a contrarian investor, like to be in a good scrip when no one cares... so mostly like to analyse investment ideas which are not that fashionable or the hottest. Generally not comfortable with crowds and jostling so kind of dislike such investment ideas which are the hottest and considered the "In" thing/fashionable thing.
And I give lot of emphasis on qualitative features concerning any investment idea - like promoter background, govt policies on a sector, consumer/tech trends etc.
And i must add, i use the word "investment ideas" and not stocks - sometimes, when most stocks are fully valued/overvalued, being on cash/bank deposits is a better investment idea.
Investing Legends - I admire a huge number of them, so diff to put in one line... but among living personalities of present times, I very much admire Mr Marc Faber.
Favourite Lines - A lot of them but I think I like these two lines the most 1) "Competition is Injurious to your wealth" 2) "It is the Darkest before the dawn"
